MINISTRY SERVICES
REPRESENTATIVE - AFEC serves as a representative for Arkansas churches and Christians in a number of venues. It lobbies in the Arkansas legislature, supporting policies that uphold Judeo-Christian values and opposing those measures that serve to pull us further away from those biblical standards.
AFEC also serves as a spokesman in the media, trying to put the Christian distinctive on the moral, social, and cultural issues of the day. AFEC has a role before other public bodies and officials and in the public square.
RESOURCE – AFEC compiles and organizes data, empirical information, statistics, findings, and facts regarding the prevailing issues that are in play in the culture. More than ever, information is power. Christ told us to be "wise as serpents and innocent as doves" and in the book of Hosea, God says,"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge."
AFEC is serious about being a solid source of good, reliable, and accurate information, so that we can confidently insert ourselves in the process by which consensus on various moral, social, and cultural matters are reached.
FACILITATOR/COORDINATOR – AFEC has been called upon to coordinate the work of churches, Christians, and community grass roots groups in numerous state wide matters. These include several campaigns opposing initiatives to legalize casino and lottery gambling and confronting measures intended to make the entire state wet for alcohol sales and to legalize marijuana and other drugs.
AFEC has also served a central role in pulling churches together in its grass roots network to accomplish things such as measures to protect unborn children, to establish that marriage is between one man and one woman only, and to provide needed services to children at risk.
